Glad to read Choice - The Best of Reason's theses. Pop culture isn't necessarily vapid. Good thing too, since it's such a large percentage of the noise in my head. No, you can't go back. 'Not back like in a box back, not back like in a race, not back so we can keep it, but back in time and space.' Seen 'The Monkee's' Head? Pop culture ain't necessarily so doncha know.
Marital bliss gets thin occasionally. I am allowed to do what is necessary to recover jai yen (literally 'cool heart'). Usually enduroventures are more than enough. But extraordinary times call for looking for Temple King of Snakes. As it turns out I believe it only exists in my mind. I am now under the impression, with a certain amount of evidence, that Toq and Suday reside at Wat Thung Luang (Temple King of Caves, aherm). They weren't home or perhaps they were meditating. I found it via back roads. I don't know how my sense of direction can be so good and so bad at the same time. But there it is. Area I know not at all, follow the mountains, looks familiar after a year and a half, I am there. Chicken calls. Silly synchronistic moment, I don't see my monks, I will not see them because of this crazy lady on the phone and because this crazy lady is on the phone. She cares very much. Ego is human nature, it's value is cultural. I can only suggest you read what I read. Tell me what you read and I'll try to read it. But see, there's this noise in my head...
