That's transliterated Thai for 'weird'. The problem with transliteration is
phonotactics. A problem. But it sure is weird to hear Thais say -can-yon'.
It's can'-yon, dammit, can'-yon! But such is the transliteration and hence
the (mis)pronunciation. Don't worry. It gets wierder.
Thailand is desperate for tourists. But the infamous lady muckity-muck of
CM immigration does not give much of a shit for those of us farang who want to
live here. Well, I guess I don't want to live here anymore. Can't fix my
visa? Can't get a re-entry permit? Well, it does look like Bangkok prolly
could but I'm tired of trying so hard. Cross yer fingers with me, may a
Chinese school hire before the money runs out in Cambodia. 'Cuz that's a
sufficiently weird plan. Between currency fluctuations and web discounts looks
like flying to Phnom Phen's about $55. My rent will go up considerably (from
$0 to around $5) but M says food's the same or lower and I'll have the
satisfaction of returning to form. What was I thinking? Yes, what was it?
Still sparring with Chicken a little. Hope I can see Poony before I go. No
power in the house today, are they freezing me out? Heh heh heh, weird and
weirder. But this lemon's pretty well squeezed evidently. I hear
connectivity's crap there though. So let's get serious about China. Which
makes the ticket purchase inconvenient. And last minute. But I'll do it all
Wednesday. Wanna hear about it? You must be wierd too.
