Are you seeing what I’m seeing? Is my green your green? Are you aware that you are seeing? I am very often. I live in heaven. Its hellish moments make me unafraid of death. Since there is no evidence whatsoever of the atman I don’t worry. Much. Many gurus will tell you that what you are seeing is the illusory impressions of your sense windows reflecting on your mind. While this is literally true it isn’t very useful. Allow me to reiterate my guru qualifications, verily employment. Now just about nobody wants to learn what I teach but mai penrai. As one of my sparring partners (I’m a bad student) said, -are you a fully realized being? That, my friends, is irrelevant. Make an effort.

On the existence of self

You may be forgiven for thinking I am selfish, self-obsessed, self-centered and a few more. I’m not big on blowing my own horn, there isn’t much reason to drone on about the good things I do do. And I am pretty hyper-self-critical... I know I could do better. Not to mention the implicit self-indulgence of blogging. But if you’ve looked at my work on blogster maybe you understand. I don’t believe in me. If you believe in you that’s OK, but you are suffering and causing suffering more than you need to IMHO. Many people call me morbid. Yes, I mentioned I will die, you will die, everyone you love will die and everything you know will pass away. I don’t think honesty is necessarily morbid. I also mentioned it’s a fine line between enlightenment and psychosis. Happy Halloween!

You’d have to read everything to make sense of anything. OTOH it has its self-contained moments. But when I said dense and self-referential... wasn’t that private correspondence?
You are looking at a Laotian power station. I was impressed. Makes Thailand look tidy. BTW, have you seen Tideland? I saw it before 12 Monkees. But now I believe my Gilliamization is complete. Too bad he didn’t get Where The Wild Things Are. Jonze is OK but for realistic surreality go Terry.
It is all quite surreal. Said goodbye to my students today. May see some in Burma, CM or Chiang Rai. Who knows what happens next?

The interesting thing about this intermittent connectivity is that we haven’t paid the bill. I don’t feel like it. My level of competence is hardly Baschian but crikey, I can set up a damn MAC filter on a squatter. Guess I’m just as glad they don’t.
The koan makes a lot more sense with the answer in Chinese, don’t it? Well that was Boddidharma’s ethnicity, was it not? Of course we’re talking about Joshu. Or splitting hair. The puppies are here. Only two this time. I’ll shoot, wait. Them pups is Laotian. The chiPhone resolution was a disappointment. But it’s adequate for blogging, naw? That was Ventienne. Mansions and piles of dirt. What does third world mean to you?

Eye of the Beholder

‘n’all dat. Ever play D&D? Now the Beholder, that was an eye. Having run down a bit of Tolkien’s catalogue perhaps we should hit up a bit of Gygax’s?
Fantasy life is. So I’m trying to remember four words of Pali. Maybe you can guess which ones? Starts: ‘dukka’... Four lousy words. Still ain’t got it. Mai penrai. Also suffering through The Fractal Geometry of Nature. Mandelbrot would be annoyingly egocentric if he weren’t correct. Yeah, he made it up. Well I’ve made up a few things too! Is that an excuse for my egocentricity? Honestly, since I left NY it’s simple eccentricity. Nobody groks the difference between facility and felicity here, let alone possesses either in my Mother tongue.
